I like this piece alot, I think it has good focus and contrast. I think this image is showing how the girl isn't comfortable in her own skin and she wants to look like the woman in the magazine.
I really liked your idea. I also like how there is nothing overpowering the image. The idea that i am getting is that the girl in the picture wants to look like a model and that she is not good enough unless she looks like the model on the magazine.
